After posting a notice on a site called Goodreads that I was looking for some reviews for my books they sent me an email with a package offer that promised 45 reviews on Goodreads and Amazon within 30 days, along with updates on progress of these reviews. They posted no reviews in a month and refused to communicate with me after I requested updates four different times. Then when I disputed the charges with my credit card company they started sending me emails threatening to post bad reviews and to give a copy of my book away on pirate websites.

Paying for reviews is a scam. You tried to hire scammers, and you got scammed. Seems fair to me.
