Empire Marketing Systems deceit involving cost of services; refusal to grant a refund. Rip-off! St. George Utah

Empire Marketing Systems is reluctant to grant refunds even though they are requested within the required 72 hours. This company misled my son into believing that his hard-earned $1100 was all he would need to begin his business. Shortly after wiring his money to EMS, he regretted his actions. We attempted to cancel the contract within the cancellation period, but were put off.

My son, Joel, later received a call from someone wanting him to open a merchant's account which would cost him another $1600 to $2300. He at that point had no money left! He is STILL in high school and worked for minimum wage doing construction work to earn his money. It will take him many months to recoup his loss. We have acquired a lawyer to help in this matter. The lawyer's letter, however, was ignored. We will be pursuing other options with this law firm.

We are now working with the attorney general's office of Utah as well as the BBB and will be contacting businesses surrounding EMS providing them a copy of our ripoff report and letting them know of their neighboring company's unprofessional and unethical practices. Perhaps it will require a trip to Utah and some picket signs to get their attention.

Our attempts at contacting EMS have been extremely frustating and fruitless. People seem to be constantly and conveniently away from their offices or out to lunch. Be very cautious when dealing with this company. I am sure they have helped some people, but they seem to be unwilling to cooperate when someone wishes to change his mind.
