Just this past weekend, my sister got married at the Embassy Hotel & Suites in Bloomington, MN. The wedding and reception took place here.

Many months in advance my family made several arrangements and confirmations for the wedding, reception, and the guests. The hotel wedding cordinator, gave us quotes, and an agreement was made on prices for rooms, food, etc.

One month before the wedding, the phone calls came in from guests whom were planning on attending. They we not able to make hotel reservations. They wanted us to use some Nickelodeon special in order for the guests to still get the original price quote for the rooms.

Many complaints and visits we made. For the hotel cordinator wanted us to call all 150 guests and tell them that if they wanted to book the room under the quoted rate they couldn't use the names of the bride and groom. What a joke!

Then the Day BEFORE the wedding, the hotel doubled the price of the rooms and the food. My parents, as nice as they are, spent half the day in a conference over this, and ended up paying the difference for all the registered guests so that they wouldn't show up and end up paying twice the amount that we informed them that it was to be. They also paid the difference of the food.

Then we I, the matron of honor, showed up to get into the room, to get the girls ready, they didn't have one available. Finally they stuck us in a board room and three hours later they gave us a room (that was after I had to argue with the front desk lady for I was not giving her a credit card a second time to get a god d**n room). So we had to pack everything up and move three floors. We had a lady doing our hair and make-up and she was not happy for that took up a half hour of our time to move everything.

Then at the reception, the main course was not on time. So everyone filled up one veggies (which the ones I put on my plate had hair in it!) and fruit. After the main meal was out and everyone had eaten my father asked them where the extra food was for it was already paid for and we wanted to pack it up for later in the evening or the next day. Guess where the paid expensive food was --- in the bleeping garbage!!!

Don't ever book a wedding at the place for they will rip you off and ruin you wonderful wedding!!!!!!

I am writing today to tell you that unfortunate as it is Embassy Suites are not completely wrong. You will have to check the contract you signed but most event locations have a 60-30 day period prior to your event where they are allowed to change original quotes.

Also in regards to your paid for food being in the garbage, this is a state law. It is against Minnesota health codes to send left over catered food home with clients.

When it comes to reserving a discounted room, every hotel sets aside a block for your wedding and it is always under the bride and grooms name. I am truly sorry to hear of your event going as bad as it did, but I have to deal with these same issues on a daily basis and hope that maybe you can understand a little, but I will not defend the poor food and service!
