I guess since it is in the fine print it is not technically a ripoff. I bought an emachine laptop from Walmart on Black friday as a christmas present for my girlfriend. When she opened it it would not connect to the internet thinking it couldnt be the brand new computer I called the Internet company to come check the line.It took 3 days to get a tech out and then they told me it was the laptop it had a bad network card. Well Emachines may only be exchanged at wal-mart for the first 15 days after purchace this was clearly printed on the box when I bought it so no problem I call the warrenty number and they tell me I have to pay 1 way shipping so reluctantly I agreed to find out the cost was $40 Now I am already upset that they are making me pay to fix a factory defect but $40 is almost a quarter the cost of the laptop not to mention I am now paying for internet service I cant use. It is now mid jan laptop is still not back. Long story short company sold a defective product and wants me to pay to fix their mistake. Do not buy from ACER EMACHINES or Gateway they are all the same company and warrenty policy is same for all called highest customer service in gateway and they refuse to compensate.
