Received sales flyer via US Postal Service describing programing that I could purchase for a specified price. Half way through the installation process the company informed me that the programing would be $99.99 instead of the $ 81.21 advertised. The tech had just activated the equipment but when I found that Echo Star would not honor their commitment I told the installer that I did not want the programing for the increased price. The installer supervisor stated that he would pull the equipment out and reinstall my Directv but could I give him time to schedule it. I said yes if you leave me with TVs that I can watch in the mean time. Next day, TVs don't work, Called Dish, won't give me the installers tele.

want $240 cancellation fee, $119 equipment pick up fee. They must think I fell off a turnip truck and decided to order their service. I plan to call Directv, get them to hook me back up and off to small claims court. In just getting to this site I found enough bad press to wonder how this company is still in business.

I had a similar problem

I had a similar DISH problem. They advertised one thing, and delivered another. I called and informed them 24 hours later that I was cancelling my service, and that they could pick up the equipment at my convenience. They also wanted a fee from me, and wanted me to get on my roof and take down the dish.

I told them in no uncertain terms that I would not be getting on my roof, and that I expected them to pick everything up. I also contacted my bank, and informed them of the situation. My local bank manager put in a call to dish, telling them that any charges to my card would be disputed (the one I used to sign up.)

Two days later, pre-paid UPS boxes showed up so I could return the receivers. They never said another thing the dish, which is still on my roof.

Good luck!
