Eastern Bank Since their public debut they have become another Citizens Bank and Bank of America bureaucratic mess.
2022 - Purchased $5500 Bank Check for vehicle private party sale, at 7pm.
The wheel fell off while driving down the highway at 65 mph 30 minutes after purchase!! Very fortunate no one was hurt or killed.
Canceled this check the following morning at 9 a.m. with a charge to me of $35, Now Eastern Bank wants the seller to send a NOTARIZED LETTER TO BANK on this subject to complete the transaction for their paperwork. The seller will not do this as he felt I should have kept the truck and is upset with me !
Did the bank provide this information to the seller at the time of presentation? NO
Did the bank inform me their policy regarding Bank checks at the time of purchase? NO
Did the bank inform me when I canceled the check, this is the next step? NO
Now that Eastern Bank has gone public, they are emulating the same bureaucratic non-sense as Citizens Bank & Bank of America.
