Digital Satellite Connections - EchoStar Satellite Ripoff holding my money, no email response, can't get through by telephone Dunnellon Florida
Three days ago I was looking on the Internet for satellite service. I found "Digital Satellite Connections". (Web page within Dish Networks website)
I proceeded to do an on-line form which asked a lot of personal questions including my SSN#, but I went ahead and got to the purchase section and entered my credit card info. I was issued a "virtual Cert#" and told to call.
When I called it turned out to be Dish Networks which I thought was all the same, but found out later that Digital Satellite Connections was just a partnership with Dish Networks.
Anyway the receptionist started asking me all the same exact questions as I had just filled out in the on-line forms. I asked her what the reason was for the on-line forms if your going to ask me the same questions anyway?
The only answer she could give me is that they are not connected to the Internet forms information. Okay that didn't make sense, but I'm going along and answering her request anyway.
Finally we get to the end and she runs a credit check on me and says sorry we can not give you service based on your credit.
Okay no big deal, but what about the money that was just charged out of my account from the on-line forms? Well she had no idea what to tell me other than contact that company.
Well I finally found the companies email and phone numbers, but I have not been able to get through. I have sent an email three consecutive business days in a row with no replies back. No one answers the phone and no messages were being taken.
I called back Dish Networks and they said take it up with the bank.
Both companies have a major communication break down because I'm left in limbo and no one seems to be able to help me. In the mean time I'm out $49.99 and no satellite service.

Confusion

I can understand the frustration which this concern would have caused. I do apologize. I am not sure why the phone call was missed. Also I am not sure why the was no way to leave a message. The answering service has always been an option for over 12 years. Also I am assuming that the refund was given, because we have not heard anything else and there are not further comments. Either way I want to respond to this post. There is no longer an activation fee required for Dish Network service, but the credit check is. This will eliminate the delay in refund.
Thank You

Since this complaint many things have changed, there is no longer a certificate number issued, also the credit qualification has changed so we are now able to approve many people who were not approved before.
As far as not getting be able to get intouch. It does get busy times, we work try to continue service at professional pace, and always try to get to ever phone message and email we receive.
I apologize for the inconvenience and if you still have an issue or need assitance, please feel free to let us know.

Rick should contact his credit card company and see if they would extract the money back out of Echo Star's account. If they can't do that, he should check on the possibility of mediation.
Sincerely,
