We purchased a time share from ILX resorts based in Sedona Arizona. At the time of purchase we were shown units at the Tucson location and led to believe that all the resorts in the network were comparable. Ilx subsequently filed for bankruptcy; Diamond Resorts International took over the properties. Their first action was to raise the fees by a whopping 40%. The Diamond Resorts also use a point system rather than a per diem; when we purchased from ILX we purchased one week and did not expect to have to figure points. Keep in mind that none of the properties have been improved in any way. Anybody out there in cyber space had better be extremely wary of any promises made by Diamond Resorts International; they are pushy and extremely high pressure in their sales practices and once they have you on the hook you have a really hard time getting any satisfaction from them. When we originally purchased, the plan was cost effective; two short years later we will be paying more by far than the worth of the rooms in properties which are not maintained well. Beware anybody thinking of buying a time share....don't deal with Diamond International!!
