My Jeep Wrangler was manufactured with a defective parking brake. The parking brake assemblies on some models 1990-1995 had a defect allowing them to self release without warning (ie the brakes popped off).

This allowed the vehicle to roll if it was parked on a hill. In March, my Jeep Wrangler, which had been parked for several days, suddenly rolled off the driveway and over an embankment. No one was in or near the vehicle or they might have been killed. The brake, which had been engaged was found to be no longer ON. It cost over $2000 to have the damages repaired.

In September the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. forced DIAMLER-CHRYSLER the owner of JEEP to issue a recall for this defect. The GOVT. forced them to fix the brake... However, the scumbags refused to even consider the costly repairs for the damages caused by the defective brake. They even got a tremendous profit out of the deal by marking up parts that I had to buy to fix it.

I urge anyone in the market to buy a vehicle not to purchase Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Mopar... This company is reprehensible. They will screw you over just to make money. Their products later prove to be defective and they don't care.
