DebtWorks, a for profit company that provides sub-contracted customer service and creditor payment disbursement disbursement services to nine (9) different debt maintenance organizations (not for profit 503-c) in the credit counseling industry, including AMERIDEBT and THE CREDIT NETWORK, should be avoided at all costs. This company is part and parcel the reason for AmeriDebt's having been being barred from operating in five to ten states in the U.S.A.

Common complaints from customers enrolled in a debt maintenance organization's program administrated by this company are: can't get through to customer service, or was put on hold for a half hour or more; payments are being disbursed late and I'm getting late fees because of it; failure to submit client proposals to creditors even after the client's first payment (-which doesn't even go to the creditors) had been received for three weeks or more; regularly taking up to ten days to send secondary or supplimental proposals to creditors; generally poor customer service.

Any person enrolled in a debt maintenance program through a not for profit organization should call to make sure that their program is not administered or associated in any way with this firm; furthermore, get it in writing that no such association exists between your d.m.o. and DebtWorks. IF YOU FIND YOUR D.M.O. is administrated by DebtWorks: IMMEDIATELY STOP PAYING THE MONTHLY HANDLING FEE OR CONTRIBUTION.

Your contract should have obscurely stated that you will not be turned away for refusing to pay this fee. Often clients will be told that it may be such fees are tax deductable; however, no proof is ever offered in support of this claim. These contributions are voluntary, so don't pay it; by continuing to pay these fees, at the minimum what you've done is hand over, in the case of The Credit Network $300.00 per year for them to just mail check or two out per month. Ameridebt is even higher than that, $7.00 per account per month. Keep your money where it will do the most good, in your pocket and when you have accumulated enough send it through your d.m.o. as a principal only payment and accelerate your pay off schedule. Help yourself not them. If you are a customer of the Credit Network, ask them what color is Harry Patrie's wife's new Dodge Viper? Harry Patrie is the owner of The Credit Network, and one of the co-founders of AmeriDebt which should speak volumes about his integrity, or lack thereof.
