This hotel robbed my family and I of $300. My wife was scheduled for a 5 night stay; my wife was delayed. She called this hotel and spoke to a Ms. 'Tina' and told her to keep her rooms even though she (my wife) was going to be delayed. My wife could not make it Wednesday evening, but she said she would be there Thursday and specifically told the hotel not to cancel her room.

When my wife got there on Thursday, they had cancelled the rooms on her. Then the hotel told me to call hotels.com to get the money back; then hotels.com told me to call the hotel; back and forth. I eventually got corporate from Days Inn who told me to call the hotel to get the money back.

I have tried to call the hotel 4 - 5 times; either the manager, Dharmesh Patel, is not there or they do not answer the phone. I'm out $300 for something that was completely the fault of the hotel.

In addition, my wife was mis-treated by the staff on the night of check in. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, they whined and said "It wasn't me, I didn't cancel you". They had no consideration that my wife had driven 12+ hours to get to Ohio or that depending on how they handle the situation, she and the family could be a more frequent customer since they visit family often in Ohio.

It's sad really that the hotel didn't have any sympathy, even if they have poor customer training. Sympathy probably would have gotten a lot farther in getting a solution.

UPDATE: After finally getting a hold of the manager, he told me in no uncertain terms he was not going to refund the money, didn't care about how long my wife drove to get to the hotel, and didn't feel I deserved anything from him because I didn't register the rooms through him even though he admitted he was paid by Expedia. Name of manager to avoid: Dharmesh Patel.
