We spent thousands of dolloars on an email list that had a boucen rate of over 50%. This sparked some concerns, so we looked a little deeper and notcied that every email on the list of about 39,000 fell into one of 3 different styles.

joe.smith@domain.com

j.smith@domain.com

joe@domain.com

So unatural and obviously fake, like it was created by an algorithm. Totally useless list and a huge waste of time and money. I sent an email asking for a refund and of course got the runnaround.

I do not recommend working with this company - it hasn't been a good experience for us.

Here's the part of the email we sent to DataCaptive and they agreed:

Here’s what we believe to be a fair way to move forward.    The system has successfully tested a total of 25,000 emails in this list, and there were 9,394 emails that passed.   This shows that only 37% of the emails tested are usable, which is consistent with the bounce rate we’ve been getting. This includes manually sending emails one-by-one.   This testing service and several email marketing experts have strongly advised against sending the emails that have not passed, because it will severely damage our domain.   In an effort to be fair we’d like to extend an offer to pay for the legitimate emails, which is $838.42.

We will make this payment as part of a full release. You are agreeing that the payment is FULL and COMPLETE and there is nothing else to collect.   Also, this agreement will include a non-disparagement clause. To be clear, the non-disparagement clause prevents either company, ApricotLaw or DataCaptive, or any affiliates of colleagues of either, from making any comments or reviews online or otherwise, as of this date.
