My 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport Truck has a warranty and extended warranty record of events up to and including a complete new overhaul on the transmission at 50K miles. When the truck was out of all warranties at 100K, the transmission blew again with only 40K after its rebuild. The Cerritos Dodge and Dodge said there is nothing they could do since the vehicle is now out of all warranties.

The transmission place that rebuilt the engine AGAIN said that whoever rebuilt the transmission before took shortcuts and did not do it right. We spent almost $2K to fix. Three weeks after the transmission was fixed, the ENGINE BLEW a gasket effecting the heads! This vehicle has been maintained and well taken care of. You should not have a vehicle blow a transmission AND an engine at 100K miles! This is not acceptable. These major parts of the truck should run until at least 150K or 200K with some minor issues like a water or fuel pump or a thermostat but not the WHOLE THING!

Not only are we having issues with these two major defects but also the paint has faded on the top even after we spent money on a protective coating that the dealer sold us.

We also have been having problems with the alarm system and has been into the dealership on a couple of occassions.

THis is unacceptable and we feel we should be given some compensation for the $4K that we have spent on these two major issues!
