Purchased 2003 Jeep Liberty on 5/29/23, had got 8 days broke down. Corwin took car to fix has had +40days resulting in a blown engine.
I received Colorado Compliance of Title notice requesting emissions be done on vehicle. Per the contract and the State law Corwin should have done emissions before sale along with inspection they Did Not do emissions!!
Met with them on situation, and the offer they came up with was Buy car back for loan amount and keep my down payment?
I asked for proof of emissions and they could not provide it.
I have contacted DOR and they too opened an investigation, car hasn’t had emissions since 1999.
According to law I’m untitled to full refund and they refuse!! They are misrepresenting themselves, and the vehicle.

Responding to this post Thank You for the clarity, and support snd in fact this was a violation of Colorado State Law "No Emissions was done at all since 2019.” Very unprofessional, snd it’s being further investigated by DOR criminal investigators!! I work hard for my money, not to just give it away to bottom feeders like Corwin Toyota.. Thanks again

That title of this rebuttal is a Latin phrase often used by lawyers which means LYING ABOUT ONE THING MEANS LYING ABOUT EVERYTHING and such is the state of far too many dealers in The Sleazy American Car Business. Did you READ your paperwork before agreed to the terms therein? Did you see the FAKE FEE for about $600? That FEE is 100% FAKE and the reason its there is because they represent the price of the car as a number LOWER than what they want. In other words, THEY LIED TO YOU about the price! They make up the difference between their FAKE PRICE and what they really want by adding a FAKE FEE. They give this FAKE FEE an official sounding name in order to DECEIVE people into thinking its legitimate. So then..since.they LIED about the REAL PRICE of the car by adding this FAKE FEE, how can you trust anything they say? The answer is YOU CANNOT! They've already told you their "level" of honesty and integrity! I am not familiar with the specific Statutes in your state with regard to your allegations regarding the consequences of an emissions test failure. If you are sure you are correct in that matter of a complete refund, then contact the proper state agency. You may also wish to search for an attorney who has experience in litigation with car dealers and see if an action against this dealer can include your attorney fees or some type of contingent fee basis. Understand this: The car dealer may hang their hat on the sale being "AS IS". However, it could be the "AS IS" designation may not be applicable to failed emission matters. That's why you need to contact an attorney. The dealer thinks you are stupid and an easy mark. Many of these dealers have a lifetime of experience of defrauding customers. I don't know if that's what's happening here but what I do know is its YOUR MONEY and YOU WANT IT BACK. Please do not drop the ball on this. The slimeballs of the car business enjoy when a defrauded customer does that!
