This gentleman called me at my house and pretended that our name had been selected for a $500 payment for shopping if we paid only $4.95. He convinced me that this was a promotion that the company was carrying out because of the Christmas season. After giving in, I decided to check the internet to find out, but it was too late, I had already given him my check over the phone. I called my bank and cancelled the payment. Yes the check was not paid, but my account was debited with $4.95. Within 28 days, they had used fraudulent means to withdraw a total of $490 from my account. I went and reported to my bank my bank, but was simply told that they could do nothing about it. I was devastated. I had to close the account and open a new one. Now I am wondering who can help me recover my money.

I thought of changing the bank altogether but I am still thinking about it. If I am not protected by my bank, then who can protect me? What can I do? Someone please help me. I tried to call the people, but they told me that they were going to refund the payments but up to now nothing has happened.
