Consolidated Media Services (CMS) dirty ripoff liars, false promises Atlanta Georgia
I recieved a telephone call way back in early January. The telemarketer I spoke with told me of this sweepstakes thing and sold me on it. They told me they had some magazines for me for free if I would just "HELP" them out by paying for some additional ones. With this offer they also told me I would be recieving a diamond bracelet for free.
Unfortuneatly I fell for this scam and now am paying for it. My monthly payments were to be $58.16. I made the first 2 monthly payments on my credit card. On the third month, after still not recieving even one magazine or my free bracelet I called to cancel, and I thought that would be it. Later the 3rd month I got a call from one of the telemarketers saying my credit card was denied and they were looking for my payment.
I told them I had called to cancel and how I had not recieved any of what was promised to me. After several minutes of on the phone arguing with this rude telemarketer the conversation ended. Soon after I was recieving bills in the mail and a phone call from them at least once a week (still am today). Every conversation I have with them is the same.
They tell me I owe $581.60 (which is outregeous) and they need payment, and I tell them I am not paying anymore then what I already have paid since it has been 6 months since I fell for this scam and still haven't recieved anything. The argument goes back and forth until they usually hang up on me! I feel taken advantage of and I don't know what to do.
I am a 23 year old single mother and I can't afford for this to ruin my credit. Every time they call me they threaten to report me and ruin my credit. I have made $116.32 in payments in the past 7 months and haven't recieved even 1 magazine or the diamond bracelet I was promised, why should I make another payment on this?! How can we stop them from doing this to other innocent people? We can't let them get away with this!
