City of Rolling Meadows still using a corrupt practice to create revenue by using a state law that was kept by partisan legislation (Democrats) to collect fines, and fees to put money into Lara Sonica's and other local official's pockets. Where there is no safety in use of these cameras. There already enough federal and state cases proving this program is all about generating revenue. This is stealing taxpayer money. By use of coercion and extortion by the local cities punishing citizens with fines. Where no cop actually witnesses, or is present at the location of the red light traffic infraction.

This illegal, abusive program as even as a top dog cop on Quora even admitted violates the Constitution and is a "cash cow".

There you have it folks. Enough lawyers, former cops, a former judge out of California, and major Chicago newspapers and university think takes in Illinois have proven through research and unbiased investigations the Red Light Cameras Program across Illinois is dishonest gains. Also the Bible says, " money is the root to all evil."

The mayor of Rolling Meadows and city officials should be investigated for abuse of this system.

There seems to be logical conjectures to keep this program. And there is no safety. In all the years of living in the burbs. Never witnessed one wreck at the red light cameras at many of their intersections. Not one. Much of this is dishonest gains.

I hope the IRS and FBI will continue to bring probes across Illinois. To indict local officials abusing this program. That cause harm and  unwanted stress to locals that have low or fixed incomes. $100 fines is a taxation without representation. Screw you Mayor and your corrupt ordinances!!

Where's all the people that like to protest everything. This should be protested as well!!

Recently, Texas has made the program illegal. Why does lllinois continue to keep this corrupt program? It only aggravates drivers and promotes manipulation by local government

The program does not promote anything about safety. This program has been proven in federal, most states, as abusive and unconstitutional.

The red light photo program is a scam indeed like Chicago Sun-Times headline reads. Besides it should be considered a form of taxation.

The program should be ended for good across Illinois. Instead Counties, cities, villages across Illinois should focus on building trust with their citizens. Finding more reasonable ways to generate revenue.

Anyone promoting, or forcing you to pay fines and fees in this program is a "criminal". This is like a ponzi scheme.

Illinois is a Pro Debt Slavery state. The state encourages local government to enslave citizens. When it should be representing their best of interests. Taxation without representation, as some have said.

Worse than car jacking,. Worse than someone pointing a gun at my head to steal my car. The robber is the municipality, or city government but without the gun pointed at me. Telling me to pay up or else!

The whole program is criminal. There is no oversight, or accountability. After FBI probes in Chicago into the Red Light Photo Enforcement Program. Illinois still allows local officials to generate revenue from the red light scam programs. Then if you can't afford to pay and or can't make it to court to pay to pay for your booted car to be released. You're screwed. Illinois overall has bad policies that favor the left leaving officials. Citizens of Illinois deserve much better.

"There can be no criminal intent in resisting injustice. " -- Lysander Spooner

If you speed often, do hit and runs, or do damages to property often that should be a reason to be fined etc.

Illinois legislation really needs major reform. What about citizens and their rights? More people will keep leaving Illinois because of bad partisan policies and insane "laws".

Too many career oriented officials in this state. These selfish officials have no interest in citizens prospering in Illinois.

If people start pushing for term limits we can remove these bad apple corrupt officials. Things might actually get better for citizens living and visiting Illinois.

Fioretti said municipalities like Stone Park that issue such “erroneous” tickets are “money-hungry.”

“What we’ve seen here is a system of government no longer relying on true traffic enforcement and use of police officers out there,” Fioretti said. “This becomes a money-making proposition for villages.”

“They’re looking for ways to raise revenue,” he said. “But it’s all on the backs of citizens, and individuals in those municipalities, and they’re doing it through red-light cameras.”

Here's an absolutely foolproof way to avoid red light camera tickets: STOP RUNNING RED LIGHTS.  I can assure you, you will not get a ticket if you do not actually run any red lights.  It's not like it's some unavoidable situation.  Here's a hint: the light turns yellow a few seconds before it turns red, and your has a pedal called a "brake".  If you see a yellow light, you can press that pedal and stop at the line before the light turns red.  I would have thought they would have taught you that in driver's ed, but apparently not.

I would have also thought someone without the means to pay for expensive tickets would drive carefully and avoid getting tickets for breaking traffic laws.  If you don't exceed the speed limit, don't drive drunk, and stop at red lights, your odds of getting a ticket are vanishingly small.

And why would a cop need to witness it if there is a freaking camera?  The camera will literally record a video showing you running the red light.  You can go to court, challenge the ticket, and they will have to pull the video and show you running the light to a judge.
