CIRCUT CITY AND COMPAQ COMPUTER RIP-OFF LEMONS

MY DAUGHTER PURCHASED A COMPAQ NOTEBOOK AS A RETIREMENT GIFT FOR ME IN 2000. FROM DAY ONE, THE SALES STAFF HAD INDICATED THAT I HAD SOFTWARE ON THE PC THAT I DID NOT. FOR OVER A THOUSAND BUCKS, IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A WORD PROGRAM. AFTER ABOUT 4 OR 5 MONTHS I BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE PC FREEZING AND/OR JUST SHUTTING OFF WITHOUT WARNING.

THAT WAS BEGINING OF REPEATED REPAIRS EVERY 5 OR 6 MONTHS. I HAD HAD THE PC IN FOR REPAIRS. NO WONDER CIRCUT CITY PUSHES THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES!! SUPPOSEDLY, THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN THE MOTHERBOARD AND POWER PACK, WHICH THEY CLAIM TO HAVE REPLACED ON THREE OCCASIONS!!! THE REPAIR ONLY LASTS A FEW MONTHS.

CIRCUT CITY HAS A REPUTATION FOR SELLING GARBAGE. AND COMPAQ HAS A REPUTATION FOR POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS. I DIDN'T BELIEVE IT BEFORE - BELIEVE I DO NOW. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN IN CIRCUT CITY FOR REPAIRS, THERE IS A LINE OF CUSTOMERS AT THE 'RETURN DESK'.
AND ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY, THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!
