I leased a van from Chrysler financial on Sep 17, 1994, We had four transmission put in, and everything else was replaced at one point. When the end of my lease was up I received documents from chrysler telling me the steps I had to take to return the car, if I choose this option.
1. I could keep the car and pay it in full,
2. return the car to be fully satisfied or
3. refinace the remaining balance.

I choose to return the car because it was a lemon and I did not want to put any more money in to it or the hassel. I called the chrysler dealer by my home and made arrangements with the fleet manager to do a lease return. Mr. Ibarra, the fleet manager for the Irvine dealer inspected the car, told me it was in immaculant condition and it would go straight to the auction. He gave me an odometer disclosure statement showing I returned the car. Two months later I received a call from chrysler saying that they were going to come and repo the car, I never returned it.

Now get this, they have had the car now for over two months. I sent them the paper work and told them to call the fleet manager. They just said I owed money for repo fee's, towing fee's, storage fee's and the difference for what they finally sold the car at and what they say I owe. which is around $5,000. I will not pay it. I have been fighting them for years. I even went to court. Now I am not a lawyer, so I got screwed, They did delay hearing and I was not notified and I lost the case becasue I was not there. DU Now they have threatened to put a lien on my husbands house. I have hired an attorney once and he said they ripped you off, and just took my money, never did anything for me. a letter or two. but nothing ever came around. Now they have ruined my credit, they harrased me and my husband at work, called relatives and cliamed I sold the car for cash and that it was grand theft. Help, anyone know what I can do. I can not afford another lawyer, they did not help at all.

Thanks
