I opened a Chime account through their app and immediately linked it to my Wells Fargo checking account. I further made a $500 transfer to said account. Within moments they locked my account due to "unusual activity" and demanded that I explain why I wanted the account and provide them with bank statements which would reveal the source of the funds. Though I thought their request outrageously intrusive, over a $500 transaction, I complied with their demand.

I downloaded my WF checking account statement as a pdf and attached it to my email. They responded by telling me that they did not accept scans of bank statements. In my next email I explained the source of my bank statement and attached another copy of my bank statement. They replied with a generic email suggesting that I call customer service as my documentation was still unacceptable.

Calling "customer service" is an exercise in futility. I'll spare the reader the details. Suffice it to say that the result will always be yet another email which says:

Thank you for reaching out to the Chime Member Protection Team. I’m afraid it looks like we have not yet received sufficient documentation for verification.

After review, unfortunately it appears that no further action can be taken on your account unless the items previously requested can be provided.

Please advise if you are able to provide anything additional for review, otherwise we will not be able to take any further action on your account at this time.

For any Chime management who stumble upon this: I am currently an inpatient at the Martinez, California Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Tahoe Unit, Room 117, Bed B). Come visit if you like as Chime HQ is only 30 miles from here. I've got feeding myself down pretty good and am trying to learn to walk again. Yes those Wounded Warrior commercials are true. Even I thought the facial expressions were a bit much. But I've watched the videos of me on the parallel railings and I'm just as much of a p***y. Learning to walk had to be easier the first time or I'd still be crawling. Just your bad luck the explosions only affected my hearing and I do not have Traumatic Brain Injury like some of my brothers here do. If I haven't learned to walk by the time this case goes to court, I'll be the plaintiff in the wheelchair. First Cavalry Division HOOAH!
