In January I signed up with Cellular One in Alaska for my phone service. All documentation was provided to show and prove that I was active duty military and I was informed that I would be receiving the military discount. Shortly afterwards AT&T bought up Cellular One.

After three months of waiting I had enough and contacted Cellular One to inquire why I was not receiving my military discounts. I was informed that while AT&T supported the military through discounts for active duty soldiers, and that while AT&T had purchased Cellular One, that the billing systems had not merged, so they would not be giving any discounts.

After a lengthy phone conversation the Cellular One representative said that there was nothing she could do and nothing would be changed.

I walked into my local AT&T store and they apologized and immediately switched me over from Cellular One to AT&T, waived my activation fee, provided me with 300 more minutes a month for $20 less a month than Cellular One, and provided me with 15% military discount.

It is good to see that AT&T has their act together. I am appalled at the runaround and last three months of waiting for Cellular One to do their job. Sorry Cellular One, you've lost my business, and I have made the recommendations for anyone else to switch over to AT&T. Yes it is owned by the same company, but it is no excuse for poor business practices.
