My girlfriend and I were selling crafts at the Celina Fun Day event, as my girlfriend has been working on these crafts for weeks and weeks. We planned ahead of time on me playing my keyboard by her booth that she and a friend of hers paid a combined $20 for, so I paid $5 for the electricity connection.

As soon as we got there very early in the morning, 3 other vendors already had our electrical connection full of orange extension cords. Well, there went my idea of playing the keyboard.

When I saw a neighboring vendor rearranging the extension cords, I approached him and said that I needed a place to plug my keyboard into. In a very rude and hostile manner, he said that there's overloading happening left and right on that one outlet that I paid my $5 toward and that I wouldn't be able to plug anything in.

Fifteen minutes later, I went to the Chamber of Commerce booth, asked for a refund of my $5 and explained that there's no place for me to plug my keyboard and a small amplifier into, and at first, they said that they already provided power strips at every outlet. I explained that the neighboring vendor already has the power strip, so they offered me a bait-and-switch solution of playing at an unoccupied space ALMOST IN FRONT OF THE MAIN STAGE where the emcee was talking on the PA system about 85 percent of the time. And they even had the nerve to put conditions on it, that I couldn't play when the emcee was talking, which pretty much meant I couldn't play at all! That's kind of like telling someone that they could drive their car, except that they cannot use the gas pedal.

About 3 hours later, I saw that another neighboring vendor was leaving, and after they unplugged their orange extension cord from the outlet, I plugged in a power strip that had not been used the entire day, to that outlet. After setting up my keyboard and keyboard stand, I started playing a few songs, and people put some change in the basket I had sitting in front of my keyboard. Well, the power surges in that outlet, and a vendor to our right told me that it wasn't my keyboard. Then the hostile vendor comes up to me and tells me I'm not going to be able to play my keyboard from that outlet because my keyboard is causing the power surge (EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD THE SURGES EARLIER THAT DAY!). And what did the Chamber of Commerce do about it? Absolutely nothing!

To anyone who has entertained even the slightest thought of attending Fun Day next year or selling items of any kind there, I suggest you call the Chamber of Commerce and tell them that this kind of greediness over $5 DOLLARS is disgustingly unsound business, and people getting the 3rd degree like I did today will remember this kind of treatment for many years to come.
