Complaint Review: Brenda Kinney

 Brenda Kinney of Caristica Designs represents herself to be a stained glass window repairer and a "master gardener."    We hired her in her capacity as a "master gardener" to design and deliver trees and plants to our residence.  Under the guise of plants being on sale and going quickly - she requested a $7700.00 deposit, which we foolishly gave her in the form a personal check, which she immediately cashed.  Although we repeatedly asked her for a formal proposal for the project (which she verbally quoted at $23,000), she failed to provide one, citing various personal and business excuses.   Finally at the eleventh hour after repeated requests, she sent an email and said that the email was to be considered the proposal, but later said it was sent by someone she just hired and did not proofread it.    On the evening before the rescheduled delivery, we finally received a bare bones proposal.   Delivery of the plants was promised on two occasions - both times a set time was previously agreed to.   As a side note, she insisted that another $7700 be given to her prior to the rescheduled delivery,  at which time we settled on $4000 more.   Although we signed the proposal, she never did.  Needless to say, neither delivery ever happened. Our phone calls and texts went unreturned and we then received an email that she was keeping the $7700.  We went to the address on her proposal and found out it was an apartment.   This Brenda Kinney was born on November 4, 1961 and drives a silver 2004 silver PT Cruiser. We do not suggest you deal with this woman and get victimized for any type of monetary amount!
