The reason is their instructions are 4-5 years old and they CANNOT handle a .pdf created by current revs of software on a MAC using Word 365. Nor do they state you MUST use Adobe Acrobat Pro to generate what they want. I submitted 2 different .pdf files and printed runs from both. Both contained the same errors. They would not credit me for anything and I have had to slip an errata sheet into my copies. I would be happy to comply with CORRECT instructions, if any were available, but they are not.

You still don't understand. The information Bookpatch kprovides is entirely for older versions of software! If you expect some of us to crank out a pdf per your stipulation, then you must print instructions that tell us either how or whtat we must have Adobe Acrobat Pro.
For example, I am using Microsoft 365 for MAC. I created .pdf files with it twice and neither time did I get error-free copies.
