I purchased a $100 gift card from Amazon. I gave the gift card as a Christmas gift and when the person went to check the balance, there was only one penny on the card. Amazon doesn't issue refunds and so I was left to deal with the company directly. Blackhawk Network is very difficult to reach and when I finally got through they said that I would need for them to do a investigation and that I would need to wait. I received two updates by email and then a replacement card weeks later. When I went to check the balance on the replacement card it reported one penny.

I called their customer service again which is a difficult task to reach them. I was told that I didn't return the forms and information requested by them and that I would need to submit a receipt of purchase, ID, photos of the card (Back and front) and ID or utility bill and proof of address. When I told them that I didn't receive any forms, the lady confirmed that they sent the info to the wrong email address after I confirmed my email address. She said that she would resend the forms but I haven't received the forms.

They took my money.  If they do this to 1,000 customers, do the math!  They shouldn't be able to get away with this. There are so many people online with very similar complaints in regard to this company. And why is Amazon still allowing them to sell on their platform?

They Stall to keep Money from Gift Card

#4Author of original report

I cannot help but feel that the process has been marred by unnecessary delays and communication errors that have only added to my distress. To provide some context, I have encountered issues with a gift card that I purchased, where the activation and usage process has not been as straightforward as one would expect.

I reached out to Blackhawk Network in the hope of resolving this matter promptly and efficiently, only to be met with what seems to be a series of stall tactics and communication missteps. Firstly, I would like to highlight the confusion caused by sending crucial emails to an incorrect email address. It is perplexing to me why, after successfully corresponding with me through one email address, Blackhawk Network chose to use a different, incorrect address for a critical communication requiring proof. This oversight not only created unnecessary complications but also reflects a lack of attention to detail in the resolution process. Furthermore, during my interaction with your customer service representative, I was informed about a request for proof, which included providing a copy of the front and back of the gift card, a purchase receipt, and a comprehensive 3-page form. I was ready and willing to comply with these requirements to expedite the resolution. However, to my surprise, the requested form was not included in the recent email received from Blackhawk Network, introducing another element of delay and frustration. It is disheartening to believe that these issues may be intentional stall tactics employed by Blackhawk Network.

As a consumer who has experienced a problem not of my own making, I expected a swift and efficient resolution, yet the opposite seems to be transpiring. I urge Blackhawk Network to reconsider its approach to customer service and dispute resolution. The unnecessary delays and communication errors have only intensified my dissatisfaction with this experience. I hope that this matter can be promptly addressed and that steps are taken to prevent such issues from arising in the future.

YOU fully admitted here YOU provided the wrong e-mail address and in very typical fashion, the big bad company decided to steal your money. What a bunch of generational BS. Follow their procedure and follow it correctly.
