IN JANUARY 2002, MY WIFE CALLED A 1-800 NUMBER TO OBTAIN PRE-APPROVAL ON A LOAN. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A SALES REP. MY WIFE AND I WENT TO THE BILL HEARD CHEVROLET DEALAERSHIP IN PLANT CITY.

THEY DID NOT HAVE THE STYLE OF VEHICLE THAT WAS ADVERTISED ON SALE IN THE PAPER. AFTER PICKING A HIGHER PRICED MODEL, WE HAD OUR VEHICLE APPRAISED.

THE MANAGER ADVISED THAT HE WAS GOING TO GIVE US $3500 FOR OUR CAR. WE MOVED INTO THE FINANCE MANAGER'S OFFICE.

AFTER ASKING, OUR TRADE-IN PRICE DROPPED TO $2800. THEY ALLOWED FOR MANAFACTURE REBATE OF $2002, BUT DID NOT GIVE US THE "BILL HEARD DISCOUNT" OF $1498 OR THE $500 DISCOUNT FOR MAKING THE APPOINTMENT.

AFTER ASKING THE MANAGER WHY THE PRICES HAD CHANGED, HE ADVISED THAT OUR CAR WAS ONLY WORTH $1000 DOLLARS AND THEY WERE NOT CHARGING US $25,000 FOR THE VEHICLE, EVENTHOUGH THE FINAL STICKER PRICE WAS $23,000.

AFTER SPENDING 4 HOURS WITH OUR CHILD AND GETTING OUR HOPES UP, WE SIGNED THE DEAL. THE MANAGER ADVISED THAT IT WAS A "DONE DEAL". 3 DAYS LATER WE GOT A PHONE CALL FROM OUR SALES GUY STATING THAT THE DEAL FELL THROUGH, EITHER BRING HIM $8,000 DOLLARS MORE DOWN OR RETURN THE VEHICLE. I RETURNED THE NEXT DAY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT THEY HAD LOST OUR SIGNED TITLE AND REGISTRATION.

AFTER TELLING THEM THAT WHEN THEY FOUND THE PROPER PAPERWORK TO CALL ME, THEY THREATENED TO FILE THEFT CHARGES AGAINST ME. I FILED A REPORT WITH THE POLICE DEPARTMENT MYSELF AND RETURNED HOME IN THEIR VEHICLE.

THE NEXT DAY A SALES MANAGER CALLED MY WIFE YELLING AND CURSING AT HER ABOUT US LEAVING. I ALSO RECEIVED A PHONE CALL WHILE AT WORK BY THE SALES MANAGER SCREAMING AND CURSING.

THE DEALERSHIP MANAGER CALLED MY SUPERVISOR FROM WORK AND DISCUSSED MY PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH HIM. SEVERAL DAY'S LATER I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP MANAGER ADVISING THAT THEY HAD "LOCATED" MY TITLE AND REGISTRATION. I RETURNED THEIR VEHICLE AND I OBTAINED MINE BACK.

I EVEN GOT 2 PRETTY KEY MARKS DOWN THE FENDER OF MY CAR IN TRADE FROM THEM. IF ONLY I HAD RESEARCHED ENOUGH ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP, I WOULD OF FOUND THIS SITE AND WOULD NOT HAVE VISITED THE DELAERSHIP.
