Our experience with Avis/ Budget Rent a Car left us with a feeling of a total Preditory Scam. Their customer service is second to anyone. Their business tactics are brutal as if your money is theirs. It seems they could care less whether you had a good experience, just sign on the dotted line and check offs and hand over your money. 

Having to make an emergency trip to visit my dying sister, I was not at my best in flight to Denver. I did not book a car rental just got on a plane and came. On arriving there were no cars, but for Budget. Great they ran through the long line of people quickly, then I understood why that was possible. They rush through the paperwork, with an on screen confirmation of service and charges never focusing on their $200 extra charge for 4 days for liability rider, then when extended for another 3 days an additional $100 plus. 

So 7 day car rental that showed $32.00 per day ended up over $660.00 total. Then to top it off, they micromanage their gas,we brought the car back with 2/10 of a gallon less than we picked it up with, which they charged $9.99. Then all of this for a car that had a tire which kept going flat. 

So, rent from Avis/Budget at your own risk. You have been warned. If you do rent from them, read everything, challenge them at every step. Take the car to the nearest gas station by the airport. Top off the gas and keep the receipt. Match it with what they say they are charging you. 

Good luck! But we will never rent from Avis/Budget again.
