I bought a Breitling Chronomat from AuthenticWatches.com on October 31, 2018 and it came with a 6 year warranty. I wore the watch seldom, probably less than 30 times before I noticed a mechanical problem with the crown spinning the stem rather than simply screwing back to the zero position. I own many watches and I knew this was a defect so I sent it in to AuthenticWatches.com for warranty repair. I was advised that the crown needed to be replaced and the watch needed an overhaul.

This is obviously a mechanical  defect that I have never experienced on other watches, including other Breitling watches I own. The warrant repair was rejected becasue the crown is not included in the warranty. If I had purchased this watch froma reputable dealer, they would have sent the watch back to the manufacturer or they would have repaired the defect. Instead, becasue they are are a grey market, they don't support the manufactuer's warranty but offer their own "warranty," a full 6 years of nothing. They do not advise you that they do not offer the same warranty as the manufacturer, and their warranty is deceiving.

They make you believe defects in materials and workmanship are covered, but the crown is an intregal part of the movement that they carefully exclude at the end of a laundry list of other exterior parts that are not part of the movement. Further, if a complete overhaul of the movement is required after 30 uses, there must be a defect in the movement. They will claim that you are getting the watch at a far better price, but you are not getting what you bargained for. Buyer beware!!!
