Just today I receive an email about this job with Auction Road. As many others have stated I got a fast paced sales pitch that made this job sound like a piece of cake and a great money maker. After giving (Joe) my credit card information allowing him to charge me "$9.95" I find out that they are actually charging me for a year ($99.95).

I told him that I didn't have that much money in my account to pay for it. He then stated that he would wait until midnight and try again or that I could call back after my Husband got home and switch to another credit card. After 20 min. of trying to get him to just cancel I said OK and immediately called the # he gave me to cancel.

For 20 or more min. I listened to a recording about Auction Road "and how great they are" before someone actually came on the line. I gave the gentleman my information and he said that he canceled my membership with them and according to my bank, nothing has been taken out of my account ("yet").

I'm still concerned that they might keep trying. I asked him if he could send me an email confirming that the account has been canceled and he said "No" then he gave me a Cancelation Confirmation number. I'm telling ya, If these Idiots charge my card after canceling I will have a lawyer on their butts quicker than you can say "Rip Off!"

I had this problem once before with a credit card company that promised me a credit card for a fee and kept charging my checking account rusulting in bounced checks having never even received the credit card. It has been almost 2 years since that incident and of course they got busted but I'm still waiting on that refund which is over $200! I'm so sick of these SCAMS!

All I want is a legitimate work at home job so I can stay home with my little girl! A job that doesn't cost me anything to start. Think about it: When you've been hired outside the home for anything like factory work, secretarial work etc. have any of those company's asked you to pay them to be able to work there? I THINK NOT! I wish there was something that could be done to stop these rip off artists, I am so sick of It!

I am the same Robin that originally filed a report against Auction Road. I have now gotten my money back for the stupid membership, but I did eat it on $300 in ebay and paypal fees. I also get to pay back $300 to one of my buyers that never got their product and it was too late to do a charge back through paypal.

Now about Juli. Why are you here? What interest do you have in this? Legitimate business...I have a Federal EIN and a state tax ID. I'm also registered with my state as a targeted small business owner. It's not just on e-bay that this happens. It extends through legitimate businesses throughout the world if they sell products on a website or catalog. Do you really believe that everytime you order something from the internet or a magazine or tv or any other venue that doesn't involve walking into a storefront, that there is someone at the other end sitting there looking directly at the product you are buying? If you believe that, you are a fool!

Do you think that JC Penny has a warehouse with an unlimited supply of everything they offer in their catalog. No way...they trust that their manufacturers are going to have it for them in a timely manner. Businesses commonly sell things on their websites that they may or may not have in their hands at the time, but trust that the wholesale companies they do business with will have it to them in a timely manner. Even the wholesale companies probably don't always have every single product they offer in unlimited supply without having to rely on their suppliers supplying them in a timely manner.

When most buyers buy something that is what they want at a price they're willing to pay, they don't care about the details that get the product to their doorstep. They just want it on their doorstep. You have some serious issues. How dare you make statements about people's upbringings? And getting nasty about a stay at home mom thinking because she can breed... WOW! You need to get a heart, some reality, a clue, an appointment with an anger management shrink and some pills real soon. You've just got to be some bitter, single, piece that has to wallow in their own negativity for entertainment because nobody else could stand to be around you and listen to that mouth. You're sad!

I read Juli's rebuttle a couple days ago and decided that I wouldn't give her the satisfaction of a come-back, but, then I saw your rebuttle to hers and got to thinking...If everything is so wonderful in her life, what is she doing at Rip-off Report.com? And who is she to tell me to "Get a Job"? You don't know me, Juli, or anything about my life. I don't understand why you are so protective of Aution Road? Do you work for them or what?

The way I see it, Juli, you have no right to cut on people that you don't know, and for your information, Millions of people work from their homes and are working for "LAGITAMATE" Companies or own their own business, this is not something new! All I'm saying is that it is sad that those of us who can't work for reasons that are none of your business, should be able to find job opportunites more easily than it has been for me. I search constantly for something that I can do from home to make some extra money and as soon as I think I find something, I come to this website to check them out and sure enough I find complaints against them. It's rediculous that I have been looking for over 2 years now and can't find one lagitamate work at home job that isn't a scam or doesn't want an arm and a leg from me!

So anyway, like Nathan said, Juli, GET A LIFE!

Juli-

I am just filing this complaint because I have had a very bad business deal with the company Auction Road in Goleta, CA. I want to let everyone know that this company is bad, that is why I got on this site to send this message out. Not to get on here and tell people that they are losers for signing up for a oppurtunity to make some income.

I am sure you are a sucessful business woman with a good paying job, and you dont need to sign up for this program because you are financial indepentant. Well for some of us it is not that way. I am in college right now, and I live at school and I live in a small town. There is not a whole lot of work right now, so I saw this oppurtunity to make some money and I went for it. It turns out that is it a scam and I am shooting myself in the foot right now.

I signed up for the service for the entire year for 9.95 a month for 9 months, because the company states that 3 months are free, which comes out to be $89 or so. I am in the process of getting my Refund for that, and I am not worried about that so much. What I am worried about is the ordering process. They have a website, www.auctionroad.com with allows its members to sign in to the members only section of the website and few their products for sell. The whole deal with the company is to setup a Auction on Ebay or some other kind of auction site, and sell their product. Once the auction Ends you are supposed to go on their site, and order the product, and then they are supposed to ship the product to the customer. So I did this for 6 different products. I have paid Auction road for 2 of these products at $126 a piece. I ordered one product on June 9th, paid for it through paypal on June 10th, and it is June 19th, and I have not received any comformation that this product has been shipped. I placed another order on June 10th, and paid for it on June 13th. Also same deal. No response to whether or not this product has been shipped. I have called their customer service department, wanting to talk to the orders department, and everytime I ask to talk to the orders department they say, "you have to email them." I have emailed them serveral times, and receiving no response! I called them today, and got very mad, and upset with them, and I got what seemed like some action going. I was told to email the orders department, and they would get back to me within 15 minutes? Well guess what, that didnt happen! So I called back again, asked to speak to the orders department, They said to email them, and well I wasnt going to email them again, so I got mad, and now i am supposed to get a call from them soon. I just want to make my customers happy.

So to you Juli, it is our fault for getting scammed by this company, but it is not our fault that the company does not follow through on their own end of the bargin. I am sure you will respond to my post because it seems like you have no life and responded to every other single post about Auction Road? Were you going to sign up for this business or something and came here to find out if it was a ripoff? Because if you did then dont do it. I might have to report you to Ebay!!

To all others. Do not sign up for Auction Road! They are a scam! I have posted letters at www.bbb.com, I am getting ready to send a not to the FTC.gov and I am going to do my best to make sure no one else gets in the same situation I did.

Thanks

People need to BUY from BUSINESSES. Licensed, regulated ones

#8Consumer Comment

Tracy,

What kind of license do you have for your BUSINESS? Occupational? Does the county know you are planning to operate a business from your home? Is your lot zoned for commercial use? Or are you another Mommy who feels the fact that she can breed and has a credit card means she's a businesswoman who is going to use her credit card to pay for merchandise she never has possession of and then get some poor sap to pay her a markup on their "merchandise" (shouldn't really call it theirs since they never even saw it, but since someplace the charge ended upon the "merchant's" credit card, I'll give them a pass).

Here's how it works: People need to BUY from BUSINESSES. Licensed, regulated ones. Any nutcase with a computer and credit card is not automatically a business, as is revealed time and again here in Ripoff Report.

Tracy, get a job. Babysit somebody else's kids who doesn't have the luxury of staying home during the day, or since you apparently need money desperately enough to try to sell something you don't even have by operating a business that you don't have either, put your child in daycare and get a job to make a living or, better yet, sell the computer and watch Barney with little Johnny and Janie.

I am sick to death of people who have nothing to sell, pretending to be in business. I wish occupational licenses were required online; a $50 annual fee would stop this nonsense.
