ASUS refused to repair an ASUS Chromebook  under warranty, and purchased approximately 03-31-2021.  ASUS alleged customer inflicted damage which isn't true, and their sole evidece was a piece of dirt on the exterior of the case.  No other allegation was made by ASUS.

The ASUS email provided by their repair facility doesn't accept responses, and there doesn't appear to be a way to contact them in writing.

This message is intended to be an update to the complaint filed against ASUS as it relates to ASUS not honoring their warranty.  Since filing this complaint, ASUS has fully settled this complaint, and the complaint is no longer valid. The settlement resulted from a complaint filed with the ASUS CEO who agreed to settle the complaint in its entirety.

ASUS is not alleging water damage, and the laptop was not dropped in a puddle.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this laptop was not dropped in a puddle, and ASUS is not alleging water damage.  Additionally the correct screws are in place on this laptop and they are the right side.

The dirt you see on the back of the laptop can not be removed with a cloth so it obviously isn't water damage.  A quick look at the net suggest ASUS doesn't honor warranties generally at least as far back as 2013 regardless of what the problem is, and I don't see any difference with this claim.  Water damage would definitely not be covered, but that isn't the case with this claim.

The quote seems pretty reasonable given the damage.  The battery is damaged because someone (probably you) disassembled the laptop and reinstalled the wrong length screw, thus puncturing it.  And the bottom of the case in your picture looks like it was dropped in a puddle of mud.  It's more than "a bit of dirt".
