I had 2 old First Premier credit card accoutns that went to collections years ago with Arrow Financial Services. I paid one in full on April 24th, 2007 and the 2nd account in settlement on May 25th, 2007. I requested and received letter of account payment and debt satisafction from Arrow Financial Services upon paying each account. I did this for the very reason I will now mention.

I pulled my credit reports here in August and noted that On the paid in full acount for April 2007, that they were reporting paid in settlemt with a 90+ late in May of 2007. On the second account that was paid in settlement in May of 2007, they noted 2 90+ lates for June and July of 2007. The first account had marked a paid date of June 2007 and the 2nd account has a paid date of August 2007.

When I called Arrow Financial, they were rude and crass with the comment "you should never have had a collection account in the first place, so now you'll learn." I simply reminded them as I did when we first started talking that I was recording this conversation and it would be forwarded to the BBb, FTC and their state Attorny General for action.

I further reminded them that I had the letters stating the exact pay off dates and read the final lines on them that reads "Thank for satisfying your account with us. Thus, you are not obligated to make any additional payments on this account." I told them that I am sending copies of these letters to the above mentioned people with compaints logged as well as the credit bureaus themselves to report blatant FCRA and FACT ACT violations. The lady got quiet and stumbled a bit at this point and then wimpered "well that is your right. Do what ever you think you want."

I sent everything out today after calling the 3 major credit bureaus. Each bureau said that upon receiving the letters of evidence, that they will force delete the paid collections from my reports and not allow Arrow Financial any further updates on my credit reports. I kindly called Arrow back and replayed the conversation from the Equifax in particular for the same rude lady. She stammered a bit, huffed some and said, "is their anything further I can do for you?" I simply replied, "No, but I wouldn't want to be you guys in a a few days" and hung up the phone.

I will post a response once everything is finalized and deleted off my report. Get those letters and record your conversations with these companies when paying past debts. I did that when I buckled down and cleaned up my credit report the last 12 months and I have avoided disasters like this one by doing so.

Good luck all in all your credit and money endeavors. Wishing all the best.

Years later I still laugh at the fact that I won against your agency in court, got paid AND you had to delete and go away....  Sooo sad.
