I keep track of my checking account very closely and discovered a automatic withdraw charge in the amount of $48.79 to my checking account from AMR LD Service Plan. The phone number given by my bank for this company is 888-295-7130. I called first to find out what and who this company is and why they automatically withdrew this money from my account without my authorization. With several attempts phoning this number, I never talked to anyone. An operator answers the call and forwards you to costumer service and no one ever answers your call. I was on hold for 25 minutes with my first attempt. I attempted to call three times with the same outcome, no answer. This must clearly be a scam since I do not have a phone with long distance. The only conclusion I have come up with is that I recently bought a cellular phone and service through NEXTEL. I am now in the process of finding out why NEXTEL, if so, gave or possibly sold my personal information. My actions so far have been to go to my bank and fill out a Written Statement of Unauthorized/Improper ACH Debit Activity Form. They, as well as myself, are investigating this. My second action is filling out this report as well as with the Better Business Bureau. This company is illegally taking money from accounts and will be stopped. Carrie Haymarket, Virginia
