Complaint Review: Ames

Ames department store ...Wrong Item in box ..no customer service

I purchased a T-Fal pressure cooker from an Ames store and even though the box was damaged and half opened I brought it home intending to use it a few days later. I didn't actually open it until a few days later. When I did open it I was surprised to find an old used copper pot!!

I immediately took it back to the store and explained to the manager what happened. He looked very skeptical and told me that the box was factory sealed when I bought it, so he would have to put in a freight claim with T-Fal and have them contact me.

I told him that the box was damaged and partially open when I bought it but he told me that he doubted that. I then went to the aisle where I bought the cooker and showed him another box with the same pressure cooker that was completely opened and several other boxes that were open but were taped shut.He just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do in the store ,I would have to wait to see what happened with the claim. Meanwhile I am out $59.99. Do I have any other recourse??
