I was contracted by Jim Duke of America's Top Buyer, LLC, aka America's Top Buyer Roadshow until Antiques Roadshow threatened to sue them for trying to confuse people into believing that they were one in the same show, so they dropped the "Roadshow" part.

I built a website, created logos, designed marketing materials, and then went on the road with them and shot, edited and produced a docu-reality video series, for which I wasn't fully reimbused for my expenses as promised or fully compensated for the work I did, and they now are illegally copying my videos off the internet with a video ripper, reproducing them and claiming that they (in particular Jim's son (((REDACTED)))) produced the videos, all done without my authorization and without paying for licensing rights.

I have all of the original artwork, video clips, etc to prove that this is my work. There is also meta data on the backend of every video clip with my copyright information.

Jim Duke and his family are nothing but a bunch of liars, thieves, criminals, scammers and con artists.

Five12 Media and America's Top Buyer have reconciled and are back working together

#8Author of original report

Mon, March 08, 2021

After a great start to kicking off a new video series that we were contracted to produce, we had a rough patch which resulted in a dispute between the two of us, but fortunately level heads prevailed shortly after this report was filed and Five12 Media began working with America's Top Buyer once again and are still doing so to this day.

Although Ripoff Report refuses to remove any reports, even by the company who filed the report. In this particular case, both parties have made amends, have moved on and are continuing to work together, and the only way to remove the reports is to actually file a lawsuit, get a judgement and send it to Google to have them blacklist the url.

So, needless to say, we are all writing positive rebutals to show that we have reconciled our differences, moved on and are continuing to work together as originally planned and we will continue to produce the show America's Top Buyer.

And just as a separate note...just because it's on the internet, that doesn't mean that it's absolutely true. Take reviews with a grain of salt.

Brent Johns is simply lying

I have known James Duke for several years and I have seen first hand how he has been working on building America's Top Buyers for all these years. I am still involved with ATB on a consultative basis and I am on the company's central messaging platform and I have been witness on a live basis as the steps in this whole process.

Brent John's did make a website which he was paid for (very well I might add) The project wasn't only for a small website, it was to include the ongoing docu-series and I was witness to James Duke chasing Brent Johns many times to basically beg him to complete the work he had promised for the weekly deadline and time and again, Brent Johns would not reply and dissapear for multiple days while James Duke frantically stalled and made excuses and had to push back several deadlines.

After the 4th or 5th time of this "disappearing act" Brent Johns dissapeared for good even though he was way overdue with the first episode which he had already been paid for. It is amazing that an individual that is basically a con-artist has the nerve to accuse a whole company of stealing from him when that is exactly what he has done, ripped off ATB. Brent Johns is a scam artist!! Sincerely Peter

I worked alongside Brent Johns. While he was a nice enough guy, he never completed the work he was assigned. I know for a fact he was well paid, but he never produced any videos like he promised.(he missed 3 deadlines WHICH HE SET HIMSELF!).

He left the company out to dry as well as the customers to whom he promised episodes featuring them. He left the owner of the company out to dry by quitting on him when he demanded results. His company has been mentioned in rip off report and by other lists of fraudulent businesses. It’s a shame this guy has to continue operating this way.

After we have given you 10,000 dollars you decided to post it on your youtube channel for your own publicty. The episode was supposed to be our travels and of us buying items of rarity but its turn out to be all about yourself.

The last part of the episode was stollen from the travel channel and the music was clearly copyrighted under copyright infringment law. This wasn't the first time you have lied and scam people as there many ripoff report on you doing the same thing you did to us.

You told many news stations and customers when the episode will be aired and have missed that deadlines that you have promised. We had paid you 1,250 a week to produced a simple 10-20 mins video for youtube but couldn't handle it. You are simply a scam and thats why you are under 6 other names for example "PlantXploration,Living' that sun life and TreeFrogMediaDesigns". After getting paid 10,000 theres was nothing to show for it but 2 1 min promos.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that you were not paid for your time, records show you were paid upwards of $10,000. Plus all expenses while you were traveling to film for the company. You promised two deadlines of when the show would air and you passed both deadlines with excuses.

It was only after you left the company that you put on your youtube channel a piss poor excuse of a "first episode" mind you that it was all about you and your travels and barely anything that covered the Dukes or the stories from items they bought.

Speaking of scammer aren't you the pot calling the kettle black? Your portfolio is littered with other people work and you're claiming it as your own; Lemonlight, PuraVida, Newport Oregan Chamber, Russell John Films,  and Bella Pictures to name a few.

You claim to have 300 offices all over the US, doing some reseach proves that as a lie, not one person from your "300 offices" wrote a review on LinkedIn, GlassDoor, or Indeed.com, Isn't this your 5th or 6th media company you've owned? If you stick with your own work and hit your deadlines you probably wouldn't have to make a new one every few years. (PXL Media Studios, IOSFx, TreeFrog Media) A quick search on this site shows who the real ripoff is.

#8REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, October 15, 2019

My family and I have been working on America's Top Buyer for seven years. It's a simple YouTube series about my family. End of July I hired Brent Johns to travel with our family as we set out to do business on the road.

He was to film our travels and our buying activities. His salary was $1,000 a week and when he said he could help with branding our company I increased that to $1,250. Paid him a week in advance. He did all our business advertising stuff and added Roadshow" profoundly under our name.

I didn't think much of it till I got the letter from the Antiques Roadshow attorney. Asking we dont use. That and Brent, who yes did create a lot of stuff on salary, copied one of the rain catch phrases. We were politely asked not to use and agreed. We never wanted to be Roadshow and are not now.

Brent made public three deadlines for releasing our episodes. He missed all three. Then started asking for pay in advance. I asked for him NOT to upload anything with ATB on it before I see it. He was to bring me a DVD with first episode to my house a day after third but had every excuse why he couldn't provide.

We owed him expenses coming home from trip and one week expenses in AZ but he was paid in advance and owed no salary when he walked away. We offered to pay for the expenses and go separate ways and he demanded more plus rights to what we paid him to produce. From last week if July to end of Sept. Check out his other reports on this very site and the truth will be clear.

Everything he created was work product as employee. 100s if not 1,000s of people witnessed even on the news Brent Johns stating his episode would be on the air weeks before he quit and only posted to his sites for his purposes.

We are left after paying out nearly $10,000 having to redo all his work and start over in the show. It's worth it to not have to deal with him any longer. Google our name and watch the news reports. Listen to what he says. I feel had for him. Something isn't right with Brent.
