I would just like to say that I have to agree with everyone who has filed bad reports concerning Americas Best Contacts and Eyeglasses. The people at their Tucker office gave me the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The first time I ordered glasses from there was about 3 years ago and I have to agree that the eye exam was rushed! I was also forced into joining there 3 year plan. Then when the glasses came back the lenses were wrong. It took them three tries to get it right.

Throughout the course of these 3 years my nose pieces have repeatedly fell off and everytime I went in to have them replaced I had to wait at least an hour. Keep in mind that it only takes about 5 minutes to put the little plastic or silicon nose pieces on. On top of all of that about 6 weeks ago I went in to have the nose pieces replaced and the tech scratched up my lenses with his screwdriver so I demanded that they order me new lenses. So they put in the order without me leaving the glasses with them. They told me that they could just send the lab my original frame order to have them match the lenses to that. They had to do this because I only had 1 pair of glasses at the time and I needed them to see.

However the next day the metal piece that holds the nose piece on fell off of the right side, which I know was also caused by their tech. bending and pulling on it but I couldn't prove it since it happened after I left there office. However I decided to get that fixed somewhere else. So I went back to have the new lenses put in, turns out they were the wrong size.

During this time I had already went to LensCrafters and bought a new pair of glasses so I left the old ones with them to replace the frame so I could use that pair as backup since I had just bought the lenses in October, and I explained to the tech that I would take care of the nose piece, just replace the lenses. So I waited 2 weeks and called to see if the glasses were back. I waited on hold for about 15 minutes then the manager gets on the phone and tells me that she tried to call me to let me know the nose piece was broke. No joke, genius I told you that. She claimed she left me a message. Which was a outright lie because they didn't even have my new telephone number on file because I had moved. Turns out she hadn't even sent them out to have the lenses replaced because she wanted me to come in and buy new frames.

So once again I explained to her that I was having the frame fixed somewhere else and that I just wanted the frames replaced because it was their tech's fault that they were scratched up. So she agreed and told me she would send them off for a rush shipment and they would be back in 3 days. So I waited 7 days and then called back and was placed on hold again for about 15 minutes and then I was told they were there. So I drove over to the office to pick them up which is about a 30 min. drive for me. When I get there they tell me they aren't back yet. I was furious because I waisted my gas and my time! So bottom line I still don't have my glasses back after 4 weeks.

All I can say is you get what you pay for. I will never do business with these people again. They are rude, incompetent and just plain dumb. I advise anyone looking for glasses or contacts to avoid that place like the plague. Save money and go to a professional and get a correct exam and get better customer service.

Have a blessed day!

Americas best=Americas Worst

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Fri, August 03, 2007

This is a somewhat unbiased report on Americas Best and its business practice.Ive been an optician for over 10 years and Americas Best was the straw that broke the camels back on me leaving optics as a career. They are both a scam for employees as well as customers, first off they gave me 10 dollars an hour in late 2005-2006, 10 years experience in optics and I'm getting paid wages like a teenager at Mcdonalds..They want drones who are forced to upsell everything, If an optician sells the 2 for 69 or 99 or whatever they get penalized in pay. How can one offer customer service if the opticians cant even earn a decent living without upgrading everyone.

Second there grading system is on a scale of 0-120 while they live in a world where 0-100 is the norm, so its hard to hit the goals unless you rip people off. I got suckered into working for americas worst by an ex regional manager from pearle vision, I thought I knew my freind, ex boss but he was brainwashed by americas best. By the way Pearle Vision and Lenscrafters are no better. These companies want sales drones and not professionals. Competition from china and corporate greed have pretty much destroyed this business as a whole. Most of the opticians at all of these companies make less then 15 dollars an hour, I personally took a pay cut from 2002-2006 when I left this business for good.Luckily I am on the verge of becoming a somewhat famous actor and I am going to use my clout someday to call these corporations out.

Advice- goto a private practice pay a little more and thats that. Its sad what these companies do to customers, but its way sadder what they do to the people that work for them. The government needs to step in and regulate these businesses and pay trained people fairly. These companies also have tried to rip off my dad, ex vietnam veteran as well as elderly folks and children. I wouldnt recommend anything online, cause your measurements and pd as well as lenses could be inferior, and these internet places are why places like Pearle, Americas Best and so on are forced to rip off everyone. One other point I have been personally ripped off on paychecks by the aftermentioned companies to the tune of several thousand dollars. Best wishes and It seems as if this business like all other businesses in America care about only money, what a shame, and shame on these big companies, shame on them.
