We returned from vacation on Jan. 27, 2003 and the next day when we used the computer we kept getting pop ups that could not be deleted. We had to turn off the computer to get rid of them.

Then after a couple of days of that happening, we got two icons our desktop which were obviously sex websites. We never opened either of them but deleted them.

We are too dumb about how this thing works to know that they had probably been down loaded and we were worried that our granddaughter would be curious and open them.

A friend said he could get rid of them so we let him do that and didn't think more about it, even when we got a phone bill for $99.80. It showed a 900 number so I thought someone had made a call giving our number. I called the billing company and had it taken off the bill and I thought that was the last of it.

Yesterday I got a letter from Merchants Credit Guide Co in Chicago saying we owed $99.80 to Alyon Technologies and they are collecting it. We called them and they explained that we had downloaded a program on our computer and we owed the money.

Then we started backtracking and read the info from others who have been ripped off and we realized it had to have been the icons that just appeared. I can't believe this can happen, but it did. We will not pay this bill.
