Alterknit New York Miriam Mades Alter Knit Alter Knit New York AlterKnit Stitch Diction Scam Business stole money and merchandise, and now using intimidation practices to solicit additional money Brooklyn New York
On 01 -17-20, I mailed the business (Alter Knit New York) 4 expensive garments and 1 pillow to have repaired via Fedex tracking 779454689531. Alterknit New York advertises their services on-line through their website and on Facebook and Instagram.
They received the items and promptly charged me $400 to repair 2 items. I paid via credit card. I have since called weekly, then daily, emailed and tried to contact them through their website. They have not responded nor returned my merchandise.
After 9 months of no response, I began to send them letters pleading for my items to be returned and included pre-paid shipping labels. Only after I posted negative reviews on social media and Yelp warning others of this scam company has the owner responded. Miriam Mades, the owner, is threatening to withhold my merchandise and legal action against me unless I pay her additional monies and also take down my negative reviews.
