I recently visited my fiance who is stationed at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska. We made plans 3 months in advance, he went and visited the Inn and made reservations on their website, as they told him to do. Our reservation was for May 12 thru May 20.

The day I arrived he went to check in and they told him that he had a room (not the room he reserved) for the 12th thru the 15th. When he questioned them they made it sound like it was his fault and that he had only made a reservation for those days.

Thank goodness they made him make a reservation online, because we had proof, by e-mail, that our reservation was suppose to be for May 12 thru May 20.

When we confronted them with this proof they said, in his words, "Let me tell you what happened, we have a group here that has extended their stay so we had to choose to not let them stay or shorten your stay." As he rambled on he continued to blame the military/government for his overwehlmed business, because of their lack of housing on post. In other words he went in circles around the subject while blaming everyone but himself.

We were not offered any kind of discount on our stay, any apologies, or any help finding another place to stay.

In my opinion this is not how you should run a business, when you confirm a reservation you should honor it.
